Problem
There not enough children books that are are written by youth that show trauma, restorative justice or black issues.
Solution
We wrote a book that talks about Black Lives Matter for children because it is an issue that is not easily understandable for children.
Target Market
The targeted audience is black youth from the ages 6-10, parents, grandparents, and youth going through the court.
Societal Impact
The value of the book would show youth that racism is an ongoing issue in the United States. Having youth exposed to the book would help them understand that racism is not tolerable. It will also teach kids how to stand up to the problem.
Next Steps
We are working with a publisher to assist us along with printing companies to find the best price to get the books printed.
Reflection
This project has given us experience with creative writing, networking, professionalism, team building and managing deadlines.
Use of Backer Contributions
We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. The funding will help cover the cost of printing, materials and labor.
