Problem
Our subject matter expert, Jess Magana, a biology professor at UMKC, challenged us to find out about different invasive species and how they are invasive/where they come from.
Solution
We researched different plants here in Missouri that are invasive like the bush honeysuckle. For our showcase, we are creating a matching game to match the name with the plant and will have information about invasive species available.
Target Market
Societal Impact
Our audience will know more about what plants are invasive here, how they are invasive, and what you can do to stop the spread of invasive species.
Next Steps
We still need to find more detail about the plants we have and we need to work on your showcase.
Reflection
We have had success with helping each other and being productive. Our team has struggled with finding what we were going to do, but we overcame that by communicating with each other and making it as easy for ourselves as we could.
Use of Backer Contributions
We only ask that people attend our showcase on June 29 from 9:30-10:30 and 12:00-1:00. Business partners interested in working with our students on future projects, please contact our Director of Community Partnerships, Jake Wingo, at jake.wingo@raypec.org.
