The Story.
Innovator(s)
The Unified Government of Wyandotte is the elected government for the citizens of Wyandotte county. They work to solve problems facing citizens of Wyandotte county.
Problem
The problem the UG is facing is blighted housing and the rising crime in Wyandotte County.
Solution
The solution is an initiative that would be put in place by the UG and used effectively. I believe my solutions would decrease both problems by over 10%.
Target Market
Everyone in Wyandotte County are affected by these problems no matter what area you live in.
Societal Impact
Some call my solution radical but I call my solution wonderful. Not only would it cut down 10% of the two biggest problems in Wyandotte County, it would also really boost residents' confidence in the UG.
Next Steps
For my idea to actually be taken into consideration, it would have to be introduced by a member of the Board of Commissioners and they will debate on whether the plan would actually work. They would need to hold a vote to see if they can pass the ordinance and the County Commissioner would execute that ordinance if passed.
Reflection
As an independent thinker, I have really grown my communication skills. It was never easy for me to just sit down and talk to random people. I think that has changed because of this program.
Use of Backer Contributions
We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. I would probably give the money to community leaders so they can decide what they would do with the money in their communities.
