The Story.
Innovator(s)
The Blakk Co. is a membership based social club for men and women of color. The product and services they bring are passes for membership for different events, apparel, and bathroom products like candles and facial oil. They bring value to the community by bringing a safe social space and community for men and women of color who don't have other spaces to be themselves.
Problem
The problem were solving is how can we add youth to The Blakk Co.
Solution
The solution is the Juniors Program which is a program that lasts 2 days for four weeks for ages 12-18. It answers the wants and needs of the users because it gives information about college, teamwork skills, and addresses mental health issues.
Target Market
The main people affected by this problem are youth 12-18.
Societal Impact
The Juniors program would bring value to youth of color by providing a space where they belong. The Juniors program would bring value in the future for youth using the skills they learned to improve their lives and their communities.
Next Steps
The next steps would be to start the program then, in November, start plans to expand the program.
Reflection
The work has impacted us because it brought us a sense of value to the community and improved our communication and teamwork skills.
Use of Backer Contributions
We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. If people donated money, The Blakk Co. would use it to upgrade the prizes for the program and to expand into another space.
