The Story.
Innovator(s)
The problem is reaching Black and brown people living in Wyandotte County to share information about the Farmers Market and educational opportunities because communities in Wyandotte are suffering from the lack of intentionality to inform these groups of people about healthy food resources. Our solution includes a unique Pop Up Farmers Market that will be placed in a predominantly Black and brown community in Wyandotte. Our audience is the Black and brown communities living in Wyandotte. These Pop Up markets will serve not only as an opportunity to get healthy food but as an educational opportunity around the resources KC Farm School offers. Additionally, KC Farm School will add more representation on their Social media and partner with more Black organizations/vendors. The next steps would be to increase partnerships with local black organizations as well as ask for funding and plan for the first Pop up Market August 19.
