The Story.
Innovator(s)
Our goal is to ‘revive the west side of District 5, District 3 and the northeast part of District 4’. Within Kansas City, MO, there are 243 neighborhoods and 104 of them have been affected by redlining, blockbusting and white flight. On top of all of this, gentrification is currently happening in these neighborhoods. Our plan is to inform teens and young adults about ‘Officer Titles’, roles they can take on in their neighborhoods. We also want them to lead events and meetings. Knowing that our target audience is teens and young adults, we believe that MY REGION WINS mission, to transcend everyday challenges by using the Arts to nurture, creative and undeveloped ideas that shape society will encourage them to participate in neighborhood events. Lastly we want to encourage businesses to get involved and provide funds to the mission to revive these 104 neighborhoods that have been negatively impacted.
