The Story.
Innovator(s)
This pitch is an example from our initial beta test competitions. The funding amount and contributions are not actual numbers. The team and submission are real though. Create your own goal and your backers will support it! This pitch story is included below...
Madden Tanner is a smart and ambitious 7th grader that enjoys bringing his love of literacy. In 2014, with assistance from his parents, Madden created and facilitate R.O.Y.A.L. Book Club. Which stands for reach outgoing youth accelerate literacy enthusiasm. Membership is offered to boys 6 to 12 years old, in the surrounding community.
Problem
Boys read 45% less than girls. Study after study supports the claim that boys are far less likely to read for pleasure than girls. Education experts are observing with rolling alarm large numbers of boys aren’t reading, and this fact is contributing to an achievement gap between boys and girls.
Solution
The books that I have written are made to engage young people like myself, specifically school-age boys with interesting and relatable books. My topics cater to boys' interests like true-life stories that include entrepreneurship, socialization, problem-solving, STEM, and more.
Target Market
My target market is reaching boys from the ages 6 to 12 years old. As well as, adults who purchased the books. Like, parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, teachers.
Societal Impact
Next Steps
Currently, I am looking to build out a project the brings a fun interactive learning experience called, Literacy through Music. It will provide another element to inspire boys to turn a page of a book that teaches sight words and sounds and recognition in the hopes to increase boys' interest in reading as early as pre-K.
Reflection
Making sure to include all the different aspects of my pitch.
