The Story.
Innovator(s)
The problem is that the after affects of redlining has been directly associated with generational poverty East of Truce. Kansas City G.I.F.T.'s goal is to reverse the effect by supporting primarily black owned businesses with grants and business support. The problem is that G.I.F.T. doesn't have the funding necessary to support all these businesses. Our solution is to create an online store for G.I.F.T. that allows them to make extra money through merchandise and special leadership classes where start up businesses can learn business tips. The main audience of our solution are the supporters of G.I.F.T. who want to assist G.I.F.T. in being able to give grants and financially support primarily black owned businesses. This solution would allow G.I.F.T. to keep financially supporting black businesses without fully relying on donations and grants. The next steps would be to continue updating the store website and spreading the word about G.I.F.T.'s merch and business lessons.
