Innovator(s)
CommunityAmerica Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union that aims to move all of its members toward the financial peace of mind they deserve, from sharing profits with their members to investing millions into the community.
Problem
The problem is young adults and teens do not know about financial literacy because of the lack of financial education and impacts their ability to make good financial choices.
Solution
Teens and young adults ages 15-19 need a way to become financially literate because knowing how to work with money allows you to succeed in life. Our solution is a high-energy game show type presentation that teaches young people the financial knowledge they need to know for a successful life.
Target Market
Less than 1% of all financial education efforts are successful. Teens and young adults ages 15-19 need a way to become financially literate because knowing how to work with money allows you to succeed in life.
Societal Impact
Our solution makes financial literacy education more accessible and engaging to our target market of teens and young adults ages 15-19.
Next Steps
Our next steps are to implement the money game to schools, churches, community centers or other avenues to reach a large audience of young people.
Reflection
We have used skills of communicating, organizing, and innovation in order to create an engaging experience for young people.
