The Story.
Innovator(s)
The Children's Mercy "Bridging the Gap" College and Career Exploration Toolkit is designed to help first-generation college students and those from historically marginalized communities bridge the gap between healthcare and research career aspirations and reality. Inspired by the pioneering spirits of our founders Dr. Alice Graham and Katharine Berry Richardson who collaborated with Black physicians at Wheatley- Provident Hospital in 1925 to provide care for the most vulnerable children in Kansas City. This legacy continues today through our commitment to transform the health, well-being, and potential of children, with unwavering compassion for those most vulnerable.Together we can help bridge the gap by creating a roadmap for today's students on their journey to becoming tomorrow's healthcare and research leaders.
