The Story.

Innovator(s)

Our project focuses on creating a new standard for marginalized neighborhoods across Kansas City MO. The problem is that sidewalks across underrepresented communities are not ADA (handicap) accessible and is creating a negative domino effect. Our solution is that we came up with an organization, The Sidewalk improvement Association (SIA), that addresses the problem areas in the sidewalks, reaches the community so that they are aware, and fixes them. We partnership with non-profits that specialize in re-beautifying neighborhoods so that we have more people to help in maintaining the new set standard. Our audience is the people in said communities to that everyone is aware of the change that is going to happen. The next steps needed would be to lock in a partnership with a non-profit to raise money and start working on reaching to communities so we can fix the sidewalks.
